§ III. District boundaries and general regulations.

  • For the purposes of this ordinance, the city is divided into six (6) zoning districts to be known as follows:

    "R-1" Residential district.

    "R-2" Duplex and multiple-family dwelling district.

    "R-3" Mobile home district.

    "B-1" Business district.

    "B-2" Business district for the sale of alcoholic beverages, liquor and intoxicating beverages.

    "I" Industrial district.

    The boundaries of the districts are shown upon a map which is made a part of this ordinance and which map is designated as the "District Map." The district map and all the information shown thereon is a part of this ordinance and have the same force and effect as if the district map and all information shown thereon were all fully set forth or described herein. The original of this map is properly attested and on file with the city clerk.

    No building shall be erected or structurally altered, nor shall any building or premises by used for any purpose other than permitted in the district in which such building or premises is located. No lot area shall be reduced or diminished so that yards shall be smaller than prescribed by this ordinance, nor shall the lot area per family be reduced in any manner except in conformity with the regulations hereby established for the district in which such building is located.

    Other than as it may be permitted by special permit under this ordinance in certain district(s), the use of land or buildings for drilling or the operation of drilling equipment or the placement of a gas well is not permitted.
