§ IV. "R-1" Residential district use regulation.

  • In any "R-1" residential district, the following uses only are permitted:

    (1)

    Single-family dwellings.

    (2)

    Churches and schools.

    (3)

    Institutions of an educational, religious, eleemosynary, philanthropic or similar nature, but not penal or mental institutions.

    (4)

    Home occupations where no nameplate is used in connection with said use which exceeds two (2) square feet in area.

    (5)

    Accessory buildings and accessory uses customarily incidental to the above uses. The term accessory building should also include church, school, and similar bulletin boards, or signs not exceeding ten (10) square feet in area appertaining to the lease, hire, or sale of the building or premises, or the sale of products grown only on the premises and provided further that such boards or signs shall be removed as soon as the premises are leased or sold, or the sale of produce completed, but in no event shall more than one (1) sign of the above character be permitted upon any lot, except for the display of construction signs during the time a job is under construction.
