§ 40-40. Application for service required; connection fee.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to make any connection to the mains or pipes of the waterworks system of the city without first making application to the city, stating fully the several and various uses for which water is requested, and giving the name of the street and house number of the service address. Upon payment of the tapping fee, the director shall make, or have made, the necessary connections and furnish a cast-iron meter box and curb cock, the cost of which is included in the tapping fee; and every premises connected with any water main or being supplied with any water from the city waterworks, shall have a separate service connection meter. If the application is approved by the director, a permit will be issued. All fees and charges shall be paid for at amounts and rates fixed by this article or by resolutions of the city council.
