§ 14-33. Adopted.

  • (a)

    There is hereby adopted by the city, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain code known as the Fire Prevention Code recommended by the American Insurance Association, being particularly the 1965 edition, and the 1966 revision thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are deleted, modified or amended by this article. Three copies of such code are filed in the office of the city clerk, and such code is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length in this section, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city.

    (b)

    If there is a conflict between any provision of the code adopted by reference in this section and any other provision of this Code or other ordinance of the city, the other provisions of this Code, or ordinance of the city shall take precedence and control.
